About Lab-Grown Diamonds
What is a lab-grown diamond?
A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond - chemically, physically, and optically identical to a mined diamond. The only difference is its origin. Instead of being extracted from the earth, it is created in a controlled laboratory environment using advanced technology that replicates the natural diamond formation process.
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are composed of pure carbon crystallised in a cubic structure - exactly the same as mined diamonds. They score 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, have the same refractive index, and are indistinguishable from mined diamonds using standard gemological equipment. They are certified by the same independent laboratories (IGI, GIA) that certify mined diamonds.
How are lab-grown diamonds made?
There are two primary methods: HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) and CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition). Both methods produce genuine diamonds, though the growth conditions differ. HPHT mimics the high-pressure environment deep within the earth, while CVD uses a carbon-rich gas that crystallises onto a diamond seed in a vacuum chamber. Can you tell the difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds?
Not with the naked eye, and not with standard gemological tools. Only advanced laboratory equipment can detect subtle differences in trace elements and growth patterns. Every CRTD diamond comes with a certificate that clearly identifies it as lab-grown.
Ordering
Are your diamonds in stock?
Our diamonds are sourced to order. This means we procure each stone specifically for you after your order is placed, ensuring you receive a diamond that meets your exact specifications. This approach allows us to offer a wider range of cuts, sizes, and clarity grades than would be possible with a fixed inventory.
How long does delivery take?
Standard orders are delivered within up to 4 weeks from order confirmation. This includes sourcing, independent quality inspection, and insured courier shipping. Bespoke and custom requests may take longer depending on complexity - we will provide a specific timeframe at the time of your enquiry.
How do you ship?
All orders are shipped via insured courier (FedEx, DHL, or equivalent). We do not use Australia Post. Every shipment is fully insured during transit, and signature on delivery is required. You will receive tracking information via email once your order has been dispatched.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within Australia. For international enquiries, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

What certifications do your diamonds come with?
Every CRTD diamond is certified by an independent gemological laboratory - typically IGI (International Gemological Institute) or GIA (Gemological Institute of America). The certificate details the stone's carat weight, colour grade, clarity grade, cut grade, measurements, and other characteristics.
What clarity grades do you offer?
We offer diamonds from VS1 (Very Slightly Included) through to FL (Flawless). This includes VS1, VVS2, VVS1, IF (Internally Flawless), and FL (Flawless). We do not stock clarity grades below VS1.
What carat sizes are available?
Our standard range covers 1.0ct to 5.0ct in half-carat increments (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0). For stones above 5.0ct, please contact us for a custom quote.
What coloured diamonds do you offer?
We offer lab-grown diamonds in Yellow, Pink, Blue, Green, Champagne, and Black. Each colour is available in five popular cuts (Round, Princess, Emerald, Pear, and Asscher) with clarity grades from VS1 to Flawless.
Returns and Payment
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy for unused, unaltered diamonds. Bespoke orders are non-refundable unless faulty. Full details are on our Returns and Exchanges page.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed at checkout. All payments are processed securely.
Do you offer payment plans?
We offer Afterpay and other buy-now-pay-later options where available at checkout. For larger orders, please contact us to discuss payment arrangements.
